Slack Integration

Get user feedback notifications directly in your Slack channels.

Pro Plan Required

Workflow integrations require a Pro plan or higher. Upgrade your plan to enable this feature.

Overview

The Slack integration sends notifications to your chosen Slack channel whenever users submit feedback through your FeedValue widget.

What you can do:

  • Receive instant notifications when feedback is submitted
  • Choose which feedback events trigger Slack messages
  • Customize message format and included fields
  • Post to public or private channels

Prerequisites

  • FeedValue Pro plan or higher
  • Slack workspace admin access (to approve the app)
  • At least one widget configured in FeedValue

Setup

Step 1: Navigate to Integrations

  1. Open your FeedValue dashboard
  2. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Click Add Integration

Step 2: Connect Slack

  1. Select Slack from the integration list
  2. Click Connect with Slack
  3. You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the FeedValue app
  4. Select your workspace and click Allow

Step 3: Configure Your Integration

  1. Select Channel: Choose which Slack channel receives notifications
  2. Select Events: Choose which feedback events trigger messages:
    • feedback.created - New feedback submitted
    • feedback.updated - Feedback status changed
    • feedback.resolved - Feedback marked as resolved
    • feedback.archived - Feedback archived
  3. Customize Message: Toggle which fields appear in Slack messages

Step 4: Test the Integration

Click Test Connection to send a sample message to your channel.

Message Format

Slack messages include:

  • Feedback message - The user's feedback text
  • Sentiment - User's satisfaction level (if captured)
  • User info - Email and name (if identified)
  • Widget - Which widget the feedback came from
  • Timestamp - When the feedback was submitted
  • View button - Link to feedback in FeedValue dashboard

Troubleshooting

"Channel not found"

If you don't see your channel in the list:

  • For private channels, invite the FeedValue bot first: /invite @FeedValue
  • Wait a few seconds and refresh the channel list

"Notifications not appearing"

  1. Check that the integration is Active in Settings
  2. Verify the selected events match your feedback activity
  3. Check the Delivery Logs for any failed attempts
  4. Ensure the FeedValue bot hasn't been removed from the channel

"OAuth error during setup"

  • Ensure you have admin access to the Slack workspace
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
  • Check that third-party app installations are allowed in your workspace
  • Contact support if the issue persists

"Permission denied"

  • The FeedValue bot may have been removed from your workspace
  • Re-authorize the integration from Settings → Integrations

Managing the Integration

View Delivery Logs

See all notification attempts:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click on your Slack integration
  3. Select View Logs

Logs show:

  • Timestamp
  • Event type
  • Status (success/failure)
  • Error details (if failed)

Pause Notifications

Temporarily disable without disconnecting:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Toggle the integration to Inactive

Change Channel

Update the target channel:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click on your Slack integration
  3. Select a new channel
  4. Save changes

Disconnect

Remove the integration entirely:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click on your Slack integration
  3. Click Delete Integration
